Hey JP,
As a charter member of the groovelocity family, your comments, thoughts and opinions are always welcome.

Based on the comments you've made about the music over the last few weeks, I have a request and a suggestion.

My request is this... the next time you listen to a house music mix on groovelocity or where ever you happen to be, assuming you're not driving while listening I would like you to take the following steps:
1. close your eyes
2. turn the music up to an appropriate volume, not too loud and not too soft
3. now find the beat and concentrate on it
4. focus on the beat until it beats deep inside you, like a pulse. let it become your pulse
5. let the pulse take over
6. allow it to move your body even if you're in a relatively confined space
6. by now you should be in a semi-hypnotic state, allowing the music to take control
7. if you're listening to vocal house and a soulful diva starts singing her siren song...
8. don't listen to her voice with your ears - hear her voice inside your head
9. like an angel and devil on each shoulder, allow that voice to guide and command you
10. lose yourself, become one with the music, become one with the song
11. trust the beat, rhythm and melody to take you where they want; believe that they won't steer you wrong

Once you come out of this organic, hypnotic trance, jot down a few notes about your experience and please share those thoughts in this space!

My suggestion is this... the next time you reply with some comments, share with us some of the music you enjoy and share some thoughts regarding what it is about the music that makes you feel good, because that's what groovelocity is all about!

I really liked how Gimme Groove Vocal House started out, it had a great rhythm and melody that kicked in.

At about 14:30 on Gimme Groove Vocal House, the singing got a little shady and not really in correct pitch, and started becoming annoying.

Saving grace is that the music got better throughout.

As to Jeff Morena, it might be just me, but I haven't heard a lot of variety within that Old Skool song. It almost sounds like a million others I've heard, which is true to the genre, but can get a little old, no pun intended.

Listening to the music, there's a sharp old skool feel to the music. I think sometime old skool loses a few points when they keep the same beat and sound for the whole song. Personally, I feel that the best old skool is when there's a strong melody. Have a good rap, but take a break every once in awhile with a good rhythm that carries the song. Because without it, it's poetry, which isn't bad, but its tough to keep going back to it. But if that's what the music is going for, then they've got it right on the head.

Addressing rumours of a mostly instrumental album, he clarified that, unlike "Pink Cloud", his second album would be full of tracks featuring his vocals. I think sometimes with house music there is not enough creativity with the beat quick enough. It can go for awhile without changing, which is fine for a time, but I like the music where there's more complexity through the song.

You should add a facebook sharing feature.
